Over the past few months, the Policy Committee has made unprecedented strides toward bringing Local 189's Policies and Constitution into the 21st century. This local's policies are created and affirmed by this local's members---WE are the union!  If you're interesting in being on the Policy Committee, please contact Committee Chair Minh Dan Vuong at [email protected] for information about when the next meetings are being held.

The Policy Committee is also working on updates to the Local's Constituation. The Committee's recommendations must be accepted at a General Membership Meeting.  General Membership meetings are held every 2nd Tuesday of the Month via Zoom at 7:00 p.m. If you are a member in good standing and have not been been receiving e-mails announcing and providing links and agendas for upcoming meetings, please add yourself to the distribution list by joining the Action Network.       

In our March General Membership Meeting, we will be discussing improvments to our policy related to providing assistance to members who are experiencing financial hardship.  Learn more here.  We'll also be considering a few minor adjustments still needed in the on-going changes to our Local's Constituation.
